Weekly Update #220: Plans For November

Halloween has sadly passed by and now we are already at the beginning of November, getting very close to the end of 2018!
With that in mind, for today, I’d like to talk about our plans for this month and kinda the rest of the year in general.

Before we get to that, however, let’s have a quick recap of everything that happened over the course of this past week!

Since it was Halloween, I decided to publish a new special blog post over on Patreon. It’s a slightly longer one, in which I talk about one of the two unfinished/unreleased visual novel projects we worked on before we got started on SHINRAI. It’s what you might have seen me refer to as my “horror project” before.

The post includes the entirety of the script for its prologue, which consists of 1275 words. It also features two screenshots to give you an idea as to what it would have looked liked, and even includes one of the many actual animations we were planning to utilize in it. Just be warned that it’s a decapitation, sooo… it’s a bit more on the gory side of things!

Again, this post is patrons-only and will stay that way for a very long time to come. However, for non-patrons, we have unlocked last year’s special blog post, which talks about the use of visual clues in SHINRAI, and features two pieces of unused and unfinished artwork. Again, these are a little gory, since they relate to the death of one of the characters.

If you’re still curious, however, you can check the post out here!

Now, on the topic of Patreon, I have just published two more postings today! Namely our monthly art polls for Christmas and New Year’s! That’s right, two polls for a single month! The reason behind that decision is the fact that both artworks need to be drawn within December, so I’d like to start on them the moment the 1st comes around, just to be sure we will finish them in time.

December is always a busy month after all. At least for me “orz

But yeah, speaking of the end of the year… what we will obviously still be focusing on is our extended demo for GENBA no Kizuna. Especially since Dinovember has just begun! We will definitely release an early look at it for patrons this month, who will hopefully be kind and willing enough to help us iron out any potential issues.

The extended demo will feature two new, bigger parts, divided into a number of smaller scenes.

The first part includes the introductions for Rei and Shinketsu as well as the discovery of the body. The second part introduces Himatsu as well as all four of our possible suspects. It will therefore be significantly longer than our current demo.

We will definitely release the first of these two parts on Patreon this month. The second part is still in need of a lot of assets, which I will primarily focus on throughout November, so that we can hopefully publish it next month. Therefore, the full extended demo will most likely be ready for public release early next year.

So yeah, those are more or less our plans. Again, December is generally going to be a busy month, especially now that I’m currently looking for a job, so I guess we won’t be able to finish the extended demo in its entirety this year.

I will definitely give it my all, however, and try to finish as much as I can within the next few weeks!
I’m pretty excited, honestly, to finally be working on the introduction of our suspects!

Anyway, before I wrap this up, there is one last thing. Since I finished that other sprite for Keiichi, which I was talking about last week, I thought I might as well share a preview of it here:

Now please enjoy the rest of your weekend and, until next Saturday, take care! :3
