Now that things are finally calming down, after all the stress of the last few weeks and months, I’m finally having more time for VN development again. And as you can probably imagine, I’m pretty happy and excited about that!
As mentioned in last week’s blog post, today I’d like to give you an update on our plans for the rest of 2019, so let’s get right into it:
Ever since the release of the extended demo for GENBA no Kizuna, my main objective has not changed. I’m still going to focus on the script and getting the entire story fully written already. Right now, the first step towards that is to finish revising the first chapter.
It should hopefully be done be the end of this month, with one exception: the investigation segment featured towards the end of it.
Due to its interactive nature and the gameplay aspects that are tied to it, it’s a little more complex to write. As mentioned during a previous blog post, I simply cannot finish it without simultaneously working on the background art. So during the first half of November, I’m planning to do just that. I want to finish the BG art for Ryuunosuke‘s room, while I continue writing the investigation scenes and comments.
Afterwards, it’s finally time to move on to the second chapter, which will consist of four different “routes”, one for each of the four playable main characters. Ideally, by the end of the year, all of them will be written, but right now, I’m keeping January scheduled for it as well, just in case. There is still a lot of other stuff coming up, after all. Halloween is right around the corner and then it won’t be that much longer until Christmas and New Year’s. And of course, I’d like to work on some artwork for those occasions as well!
(Speaking of which, patrons can get another look at this year’s Halloween artwork right here. I’ve basically finished my part on it, so now it’s up to Natsu to properly color it!)
So yeah, that’s more or less it for the remaining two months of this year: seasonal artwork, chapter 1 revisions, one BG art, and as much writing for chapter 2 as I can possibly do. And on that note, next week, I’ll probably share some of my writing with patrons again. They can look forward to full script documents, while I’ll post little snippets of it here and over on Discord, as well.
