Weekly Update #331: Another Quick Progress Update

Once again, I’ve been pretty busy and have therefore run out of time, so we gotta keep this post short, unfortunately.

So, what’s been going on this past week? Well, I’ve been working on a variety of things, actually. Most of them, I can’t get into much detail about, due to their spoilery nature, but I’ve made some very good progress on Withering Without Hope. Earlier this week, I’ve finally managed to come up with a solution for one of the last big question marks regarding the game’s mystery setup.

It’s been something I’ve been racking my head over for a very, very long time, so it’s a heavy weight off my shoulders to have finally found a solution and make this work. My brain hasn’t been exploding with ideas like this in quite some time, so it was a very nice feeling too, which got me quite motivated, haha.

It’s not the only thing I had a spontaneous overflow of ideas for, though. I’m currently working on a little SHINRAI-related side project which I can’t wait to talk more about, since that also got me quite excited!

One other thing I’ve taken care of is this year’s Christmas artwork. I’ve finished my part on it, which means that patrons can check out a preview of it right here. Now the rest is up to Natsu!

Of course, work on GENBA no Kizuna continued as well, mostly regarding the script. I’m planning to finally post some of it on Patreon soon and make it available for lower tiers as well, in order to hopefully gain more feedback. So, if you are a patron, be sure to be on the lookout for that!

Anyway, I’m officially on holiday from my day job until early January, so I’m finally gonna have a bit more time for VN development again. I’ve been looking forward to this for a very long time now and hope to get a few more things done before the end of the year, so next Saturday, I might be able to write up a bit more again! Weekly Update #330: New BGM

Well, since I’ve been busy all day and kinda ran out of time, I guess I’ll have to leave you with another very short update, sorry!

So, let’s sum things up real quick:

This week, I’ve spent the majority of my time working on the script for GENBA no Kizuna again, finishing up scenes 08 to 10 and doing a read-through with both Kuna and Natsu, to get their impressions and feedback. I’m going to distance myself from these scenes for a couple of days before I go through them one more time and finally send them in for proofreading. I’ll likely publish them on Patreon as well, in case any of our patrons would like to help out, too!

Outside of that, I’ve continued working on the body CG and prepared for the other missing CG for chapter I. I’m also working on a little side thing right now, which hopefully, I’ll be able to share more on very soon!

The biggest piece of news for this week is that our composer Solo has finished another track for GENBA! This time, it’s Rei‘s investigation theme and patrons can already check out the full-length track right here!

Weekly Update #329: Quick Progress Update

Today, we’re going to do a very quick update, although there is a bit more for patrons to read, as I’ve published an new special blog post. Continuing from last week, it talks about the setup for Withering Without Hope and Broken Beyond Despair‘s effects on it.

As for GENBA no Kizuna, I have continued working on the body CG. Slowly but surely, it’s taking shape, despite my perfectionism posing kind of a hindrance this week. I’ve struggled a lot with getting things “right”, which applies to the script as well, which I’ve worked on, too. This might be its own topic one day, but I really do have an obsession with getting things as perfect as possible, which is kind of a ridiculous idea… and thankfully, I’ve managed to get off that a little, resulting in more, actually satisfying progress during the last two days.

Unfortunately, I can’t preview the script nor the spoilery CG and obviously can’t talk in detail about them either, but hopefully, I’ll have something else to show/talk about soon.

Weekly Update #328: CG & BGM Progress

This past week, I’ve focused on drawing the “dead body” CG for GENBA no Kizuna, which is quite an undertaking to say the least.
I’ve made a lot of progress on it, but there’s still some work left to be done. It took me quite a while to figure out the exact perspective and angle. Thankfully, being married has its perks, so I got Kuna to take a bunch of reference pictures of me while I was lying on the floor, pretending to be dead, haha. That definitely helped tremendously.

Weekly Update #327: BGs, CGs, Sprites & WWH

After a bit more BG work, I have finally finished a variation for the 1st Floor Main Hall and one for the 2nd Floor Main Hall.
That now only leaves one more variation of the 1st floor and all the necessary BGs for the first three chapters of GENBA are done!
Hopefully, I can get to that soon, but first of all, I’ve decided to tackle the “dead body” CG instead, as it is kinda tied to that BG.

Weekly Update #326: GENBA Background Progress

Alright, after a bit more work, I have finally finished the background for the second floor of the main hall and, along with it, adjusted the other two main hall BGs. Weekly Update #323: Main Hall BG Update

In order to fully complete the first chapter of GENBA no Kizuna, not only do we need to work on the remaining scenes which were not included in our extended demo, we also need to adjust the content what was included in it. And one example of this is the main hall.
