Weekly Update #442: Marketing Woes

First of all, in case you haven’t seen it yet, we have just launched the Steam store page for GENBA no Kizuna a couple of days ago!
Along with it, we have also finally put up a trailer which should give you a good overview as to what you can expect from the game.
Be sure to check out the announcement post for more details and don’t forget to add GENBA to your wishlist! It’d help us out a lot!

Now, with all of that out of the way, let’s delve into today’s topic: why is launching the Steam store page such a big deal to begin with and why would we even do it, if it’s still gonna be a while until the actual release of the game?

GENBA no Kizuna Steam Page Launch!

Yep, you’ve read that correctly, Keiichi! As of today, the Steam store page for our next murder mystery visual novel GENBA no Kizuna is finally live! Along with a revised list of features that now better reflects what the final product is going to be like, we have also uploaded a whole bunch of new screenshots! Although none of this might be all that new to you if you’ve already checked out the recent update to the GENBA section on this website or over on our itch store page

What’s definitely going to be new to you, however, is the first proper trailer we have prepared for the occasion! Not only can you view it on the Steam store page, we’ve also uploaded it to our YouTube channel, so let me share it with you right here as well:

Weekly Update #441: GENBA Steam Page Launch Preparations

For a while now, we’ve been working on getting the Steam store page ready for our new VN project GENBA no Kizuna and, over the course of this past week, we’ve taken care of the final preparations. As a matter of fact, I’ve even marked the store page as “ready for review” earlier this week, as Valve check everything themselves before they allow it to be published. Sadly, there were a couple of smaller things they wanted me to change and so the store page isn’t up already as I had hoped it would be…

I’ve already made the necessary adjustments, but rather than just verify those, Valve requires the whole thing to go through the review queue again, which can take up to three days and, since they’re not working on the weekends… well, it’s going to take a little longer. Hopefully, though, everything is fine now and we can finally publish the store page before our next weekly update, so…

Be sure to keep your eyes open for an announcement here on our website (or any of our social medias) and ready your mouse to click on that wishlist button!

So, if you want to get up to speed on the general state of things regarding the development of our next project, those are the best ways to get a quick overview!

With that out of the way, let’s talk about what we’ve managed to get done during the second week of the new year!

Weekly Update #438: 2022 Retrospect

Today is the last day of 2022, so it’s time to take a look back and recap how things have gone for us over these past twelve months. Fortunately, I can state that, overall, this year was a rather successful one and a definite step up from 2021, but there were also a few not so great things about it, so let’s get those out of the way first…

Weekly Update #437: Christmas Update

Well, this is the first time our weekly update falls on Christmas, so, as you can probably imagine, I don’t really have too much time for a big one, which is why we’re going to keep things rather short today! In exchange, however, next week’s blog post will be a pretty lengthy one, as I will publish our annual retrospect to take a look back at the entirety of 2022!

But for now, here’s a brief progress report:

Merry Christmas!

This year, GENBA no Kizuna‘s grumpy little T-Rex fanboy is here to wish you some not so grumpy Happy Holidays!
If even Ryuunosuke can relax and put on a smile to enjoy a cozy Christmas, hopefully, you can do so as well!
At the very least, that’s what Natsu and I wish for you! So please have a chill, safe and very merry time!

Ryuu‘s actually the first of the GENBA Guys getting a Christmas artwork. The GENBA Girls Christmas Series was completed last year, so if you’re curious to see how they’ve dressed up for the Holidays, you can find them in our gallery or check them out here:
Himatsu, Rei, Amber, Shiku.

Also, if you’re a patron, you can get a hi-res version of the artwork, along with a version of just Ryuu himself without any text, background or dinosaur skulls!

Winter Sale 2022

Winter’s officially begun and you know what that means! Yep, that’s right, it’s time again for the annual Winter Sale!
If you’re one of those cool peeps who spends the Holidays in the only acceptable way, namely by delving deep into murder cases, then we’ve got you covered! The PC version of SHINRAI – Broken Beyond Despair will be 50% off until January 5, 10:00 AM PST!

The OST‘s even 75% off and, as usual, you can shave off an additional 10% by getting the soundtrack bundle!
Furthermore, the PlayStation 4/5 version is also currently on sale for the same percentage until January 19!

Weekly Update #436: Chapter IV Progress

So, I’m officially off from my day job for the remainder of 2022, which naturally means switching back to full-time VNdev mode!

My main goals are going to be the Christmas artwork (or at least that one was, but my part on it is actually done now, meaning that all that’s left to do is for Natsu to properly color it) and the script for GENBA no Kizuna‘s fourth chapter.

This week, I have finished up Himatsu‘s final interrogation route (at least as far as I currently can… I will need to get back to some parts of it once I get to the beginning of the final chapter, because things have changed a little ever since I wrote the outline and so they now have to be switched around).
