I’m officially on vacation from my day job for the rest of the year now and, as you might expect, I intend to make the most of it by fully devoting myself to GENBA no Kizuna. I’m already off to a very productive start as I’ve went through the entirety of Keiichi‘s route again yesterday, fixing the few remaining things I wasn’t quite satisfied with yet. As such, I can proudly announce that the script for it is fully done now, with the exception of one last proofreading pass I’ll do right before sending it, along with all the assets, over to Natsu.
For that to happen, I will need to wait for her to finish coloring the new sprites and profile pictures, though.

Weekly Update #382: More Script Progress

Weekly Update #381: Shinketsu’s Route Progress
As you can tell from the title, this past week has been mostly dedicated to Shinketsu‘s route. As mentioned last time, I was rather worried that, compared to the other routes, it will end up being noticeably shorter and… it certainly will be a quicker experience.
That said, I’m surprised by how much I managed to get out of examining a single body, compared to three entire backgrounds with numerous objects in Rei‘s route, for instance. Right now, were sitting at 6,000 words, but I’m still missing the DNA analysis segment and the wrap-up scene, though I highly doubt I’ll get anywhere close to doubling the word count to match the other routes.

Weekly Update #380: Script Progress & New BGM
Script work has continued and, by now, Rei‘s route is basically done! Although it still requires some revisions and proofreading, it is fully written now and amounts to ~12,000 words, making it quite a bit longer than I originally anticipated. I was sure it would turn out much shorter than Keiichi‘s route, but they’re very close in length now!

Weekly Update #379: Rei’s Route Progress
Although script work on Himatsu‘s route is not entirely done yet, this week I’ve decided to tackle Rei‘s route and made some very good progress on it. I’m planning to have the first part of it, the actual investigation, done by tomorrow. Unlike Keiichi‘s and Himatsu‘s routes, in which you will have to interview the four members or Raptor Pack Productions, as well as the two mystery witnesses, Rei‘s route barely features any character interaction and focuses primarily on background investigation.

Weekly Update #378: Himatsu’s Route Progress
After wrapping up Keiichi‘s investigation route for chapter 2, I have now moved on to Himatsu‘s route and mostly dedicated myself to the script work again this past week. The intro and outro scenes are done and so is the interview with Raptor Pack Productions. Granted, I had already written these parts earlier this year, meaning that I simply needed to go through them for revision purposes, but it still feels good to have that checked off my to-do list finally, and I’m pretty satisfied with the writing to boot!

Weekly Update #377: Plans For November
The spooky season lies past us now, unfortunately, and we’re entering the final stretch of the year, which is usually one of the busiest times for me (and for most of everyone else, I’d guess). There is a lot to do in order to achieve the goals I have set for myself before the end of 2021, but before we get into our plans for the coming weeks, I’d like to give a little reminder that our murder mystery SHINRAI – Broken Beyond Despair is now available on consoles!

Weekly Update #376: Console Release Thoughts
Now that SHINRAI has finally been released on consoles, today, I’d like to talk a little more about this whole porting endeavor.
It’s another milestone and, honestly, a rather momentous event for me, so this post is going to be a bit more on the personal side.
It’s still very surreal to see our little VN show up on the Nintendo eShop, the PlaySation Store and the Microsoft Store as well.
On PSN, it’s even listed right below Neptunia x Senran Kagura and, as a fan of both franchises, it made me very happy to see, haha.
(Seriously, it’s so strange to see this, I just can’t get over it w)
