Weekly Update 447: Asset Progress

As the title suggests, this past week, I’ve been mostly busy with asset work, the latest result of which you can see above: a new expression for the character Tsume. She’s finally going to make a full body appearance in Shinketsu‘s next route. Overall, she will only have very limited screen time, so there won’t be any pose variations, but given the nature of the scene, I at least needed additional expressions.

Weekly Update #446: New Evidence

First of all, in case you haven’t seen it yet, I would like to direct your attention to the Steam Mystery Fest which is currently being held!
Both our murder mystery projects SHINRAI – Broken Beyond Despair and GENBA no Kizuna are being featured in it, so it’s a great opportunity to grab SHINRAI and its soundtrack at a discount and to have a look at GENBA‘s recently published store page (and maybe even add it to your wishlist *wink wink*). For more information, check out our announcement post!

Now, with that out of the way, let’s get into this week’s progress report!

Steam Mystery Fest

That’s right, for the next seven days, Steam is celebrating the spirit of investigation and mystery solving in its Mystery Fest!

We’ve been invited to take part in it, which means that this is a really good time to check out our Halloween-themed murder mystery SHINRAI – Broken Beyond Despair, as it will be on discount (50% off) for the whole duration of the event, or to learn more about our upcoming dinosaur-themed murder mystery GENBA no Kizuna, which is planned to be released later this year!

Weekly Update #445: BG Art Progress

As you can already tell from the title and the screenshot above, I’ve been working quite a bit on background art lately!
In GENBA no Kizuna‘s penultimate chapter (the final investigation phase), you’ll get to explore new parts of the Kaseki Residence, such as the back corridor, the backyard or the laundry room on the second floor.

Weekly Update #443: Plans For February

Now that the Steam page for GENBA no Kizuna is up and we have also finally uploaded a proper trailer, it’s time to get back to the actual development side of things and work on the game itself. Currently, I’m preparing the next set of chapter four routes for Natsu to code and the main goal for this month is to have 60% of the chapter in a playable state by the end of it.

Most of the script is already written and only in need of proofreading, but there are some key scenes that aren’t completely finished yet or require a few more revisions. I can’t say much about them due to spoiler reasons, but they are what the whole “Kizuna” part in the game’s title is all about, so the perfectionist inside of me wants to… well… perfect them. That’s why it’s a bit difficult for me to reach a point where I feel satisfied, but I’m slowly getting closer there!

Aside from the sound effects, all the new assets required are already done at least and, on the topic of sound, we also have yet another new addition to GENBA‘s OST! Patrons can even listen to the full track right here.

That about sums it up for this week. Very short update, but that leaves me with more time to work, so I’m gonna get right back to getting those key scenes done! As always, please enjoy the rest of your weekend and, until next Saturday, take care :3

Weekly Update #442: Marketing Woes

First of all, in case you haven’t seen it yet, we have just launched the Steam store page for GENBA no Kizuna a couple of days ago!
Along with it, we have also finally put up a trailer which should give you a good overview as to what you can expect from the game.
Be sure to check out the announcement post for more details and don’t forget to add GENBA to your wishlist! It’d help us out a lot!

Now, with all of that out of the way, let’s delve into today’s topic: why is launching the Steam store page such a big deal to begin with and why would we even do it, if it’s still gonna be a while until the actual release of the game?

GENBA no Kizuna Steam Page Launch!

Yep, you’ve read that correctly, Keiichi! As of today, the Steam store page for our next murder mystery visual novel GENBA no Kizuna is finally live! Along with a revised list of features that now better reflects what the final product is going to be like, we have also uploaded a whole bunch of new screenshots! Although none of this might be all that new to you if you’ve already checked out the recent update to the GENBA section on this website or over on our itch store page

What’s definitely going to be new to you, however, is the first proper trailer we have prepared for the occasion! Not only can you view it on the Steam store page, we’ve also uploaded it to our YouTube channel, so let me share it with you right here as well:

Weekly Update #441: GENBA Steam Page Launch Preparations

For a while now, we’ve been working on getting the Steam store page ready for our new VN project GENBA no Kizuna and, over the course of this past week, we’ve taken care of the final preparations. As a matter of fact, I’ve even marked the store page as “ready for review” earlier this week, as Valve check everything themselves before they allow it to be published. Sadly, there were a couple of smaller things they wanted me to change and so the store page isn’t up already as I had hoped it would be…

I’ve already made the necessary adjustments, but rather than just verify those, Valve requires the whole thing to go through the review queue again, which can take up to three days and, since they’re not working on the weekends… well, it’s going to take a little longer. Hopefully, though, everything is fine now and we can finally publish the store page before our next weekly update, so…

Be sure to keep your eyes open for an announcement here on our website (or any of our social medias) and ready your mouse to click on that wishlist button!
