Just as promised in our previous blog post, I’ve used this past week to finish my part on GENBA no Kizuna‘s first CG. What exactly does that mean? Well, outside of adding and fixing some details, I took care of drawing all the facial variations. If you’ve played SHINRAI, you can imagine this CG to be similar to the one used during the car ride. It will be used over a number of text boxes and feature various expressions for Keiichi. Five in total, to be precise. Patrons can actually get an updated look at the CG over here.
All that’s basically left now is for Natsu to finish the coloring. So what’s up next for me then? The BG art, of course!
I have already started working on the next background and made some very good progress on it today. I might actually post a preview of it over on Patreon very soon. Once this BG is done, there is one more CG remaining and that will take care of all the big assets that are left on the to-do-list for our extended demo.
By the end of April, everything should hopefully be taken care of, so that patrons can expect to playtest the full thing in May.
As always, it took a bit longer than originally anticipated. Right now, I’m thinking we will most likely do the public demo release during Jurassic June. It’d obviously fit thematically and I’d like to tie it to the summer sale as well, hoping that both GENBA and SHINRAI will gain a bit more attention that way. But I guess we’ll see. For now, I’ll continue to focus on making as much progress as possible during the coming week!
Unfortunately, there isn’t really much else to report for today, but I’m certainly glad that we’re finally getting closer to the finish line!
I really can’t wait to share this demo and see what players will think of it, especially in regards to our new cast…
