So, today, I’d like to talk a little more about the fourth chapter in GENBA no Kizuna, which I’m currently doing script work for.
As the game’s penultimate chapter, you can probably already guess that there’s going to be a lot going on here. I can’t say anything with certainty until it’s fully written out, but it might very well turn into the longest chapter of the game.
This is where we get into the core phase of the investigation and, by the end of it, all the puzzle pieces will be available to figure out the truth behind the incident at the Kaseki residence, similar to how it worked in SHINRAI.
The chapter begins with a character selection screen, meaning that you can once again play as all four of our investigators and need to complete their individual routes in order to advance to the next phase. Right now, that’s the part I’m working on, specifically Keiichi‘s route in which he gets to interview our mystery witnesses one more time.
These four routes will all be quite a bit shorter than the ones you can play through in the second chapter, but unlike there, completing all four of them will not end the chapter. On the contrary, the investigation will continue on for a little longer and you will get to switch characters a few more times as they check out new areas of the mansion. I don’t want to spoil too much, obviously, but the teamwork between them will also start to play an integral role in moving forward. For instance, it might be that Himatsu will be unable to confront any of the suspects about certain issues unless one of the other investigators has discovered some evidence that she can use to make them talk.
I’m very much looking forward to getting to these parts, but it’s once again going to be a pretty long and work-intensive process.
The current goal is to finish the chapter by the end of September, so that we will have the last three months of the year for the fifth and final one (which is also going to be a lot shorter again).
Now, regarding the chapter three demo, Natsu finally got some more time again to really focus on the coding, so we hope to finish it up and release it to patrons within this final week of Jurassic June. Really sorry about all the delays, but sometimes, life just won’t give you a break and other things need to be prioritized.
Anyway, as always, I wish you to enjoy the rest of your weekend and, until next Saturday, take care! :3
