Weekly Update #378: Himatsu’s Route Progress

After wrapping up Keiichi‘s investigation route for chapter 2, I have now moved on to Himatsu‘s route and mostly dedicated myself to the script work again this past week. The intro and outro scenes are done and so is the interview with Raptor Pack Productions. Granted, I had already written these parts earlier this year, meaning that I simply needed to go through them for revision purposes, but it still feels good to have that checked off my to-do list finally, and I’m pretty satisfied with the writing to boot!

All that’s left now is to finish up the investigation commentary and scenes, as well as the character interactions prior to the interview.
The way Himatsu‘s route works is that she first needs to whip the four members of RPP into shape, as they all aren’t in a state/mood to be asked any questions, so you will need to talk to each of them individually in order to change that.

There is still work to be done, but I have made quite a bit of progress and hope to finish up within the next couple of days.
I actually posted a little preview earlier on Twitter, if you’re curious. As you can see from it, the color of the textbox has also changed.

The idea right now is to give each character their own GUI color, so while Keiichi‘s textbox is green and Himatsu‘s blue, Shinketsu‘s will be red, for instance. Still debating on what color to use for Rei. I will probably try a few different versions and make a poll on Patreon to decide which one to go with, as I promised some time ago.

Anyway, outside of the above, I have also worked some more on the assets. As mentioned last time, the ones for Keiichi‘s route are all done now and have been sent to Natsu for coloring, so it’s time to get all the visual stuff for Himatsu‘s route done as well!

I can’t really share anything from her route yet, but here’s a new sprite version of Kurou, which will show up in Keiichi‘s:

That about cover’s it for this week’s progress report. Before we come to a close, however, I’d like to remind you that the launch discount for SHINRAI‘s console versions still continues for a little bit longer! At least on Nintendo Switch, so if you haven’t gotten the game yet, be sure to act quickly before that one’s over, too!

Now, as always, please enjoy the rest of your weekend and, until next Saturday, take care :3
