Alrighty, this time, it’s going to be a bit harder to talk about my progress for this week, let alone show any of it. It’s not like it’s about something that would ruin the mystery or even the story of GENBA no Kizuna, yet I would still consider it kind of a “spoiler”. Or rather, it’s a surprise I’d like to keep a secret until the full game is out. I might pose teasers in the future (if I figure out a good way to do it), but for now, I’ll kinda have to keep you a little bit in the dark (feel free to speculate, however, as you might easily be able to take a guess as to why I want this to be a surprise w).
Anyway, it’s about the last two characters that will appear in GENBA, who haven’t been officially introduced yet, although I have mentioned a couple of times now that, outside of our 4 investigators and our 4 suspects, there are 2 witnesses appearing later on in the story. They are first mentioned at the end of chapter 1 and introduced during Keiichi‘s investigation route in chapter 2.
These two witnesses aren’t going to play as big of a role as the other characters, but will provide important clues in regards to the mystery… or maybe make everything seem even more abstruse.
In any case, these two need their fair share of sprites and, over this past week, I have worked on one of them and finished her base sprite (there is a male and a female witness, in order to keep a well gender balance this time around w).
As I said, I want to keep their appearance a little bit of a secret, so I won’t be able to post any previews of my work. I’m contemplating whether to give patrons an early look, but even that I’m kind of hesitant about. We’ll see. For now, I will continue working on the second witness and hopefully finish his base sprite by next Saturday.
I do have one visual thing to share with you, though:
Natsu has already finished properly coloring Ryuunosuke‘s grandfather, the late Prof. Dr. Kaseki, and I think she did a fantastic job! If you’re a patron, you can actually see a fully colored/shaded version of the doc and his grandson together for the “picture frame CG”, right over here.
Anyway, that’s more or less all I can share with you this week. Please don’t forget to check out Kuna‘s artbook for Pitch Black Serenade, which was just released. I thought you might be interested, since it can give you an idea as to what the art in our future projects might look like (the limited edition even comes with some neat physical goodies)!
Also, if you’re curious about what Natsu‘s been up to, be sure to check out her new Patreon page! For now, she’s posted a public recap of 2019, so you can read it in full, even without a pledge!
Now, as always, please enjoy the rest of your weekend and, until next Saturday, take care! :3
