Since it’s Jurassic June, I figured it’s the perfect time to finally continue the “GENBA Pokémon Trainer” series, so let’s start off today’s post with a brand-new artwork featuring our perpetually tired Shiku and her excited little Archen:
The piece was once again drawn by the rextremely talented JulyMarte (who’s currently open for commissions, by the way).

To further celebrate Jurassic June, I’ve also continued updating my little threads on Twitter and Bluesky, sharing more obscure dino media-related nods and Easter Eggs I’ve hidden in GENBA no Kizuna. So if you’re curious as to what you may have missed while playing the game, be sure to check either of them out!
Now, regarding SHINRAI Saku, we’ve made some more really good progress this week, too! After Natsu sent me the properly shaded versions of a few more sprites, I was finally able to whip up the remaining character icons, so here’s a look at the completed profile selection page for the game:
As you can see, Rie, Runa and Mika are featured here, too. I don’t wanna talk too much about their involvement in the story, but even though they didn’t get any full body sprites like the rest of the cast, at least two of them will get quite a bit of screen time. What that will ultimately look like, however… you’ll have to find out by playing the game!
Speaking of sprite art, I’ve finally published Mana‘s expressions on Patreon, available to 1$+ tiers. With that, we can now count the sprites among the completed asset categories, too! So yeah, our to-do list is accumulating more and more green checkmarks!
