This week, I’ve started tackling the expressions for the last two remaining cast members of SHINRAI Saku – Blooming Beyond Despair, starting with Misaki Ginmaku! If you’re a 1$+ tier Patreon supporter, you can see a few more expressions over here! And on that note, I’ve also published another new Patreon post for 3$+ tiers, providing an unobstructed view at the “door BG” I showcased last week.
Since it’s just a simple door, there isn’t too much else to show or say there, but the post does include a WIP-step and some Japan-related trivia at least!
But anyway, let’s get back to Saki-chan now!
She’s actually a very important character to me. If I had to pick my three favorite daughters, they’d be Raiko, Kamen… and Misaki!
Now, as mentioned previously, she isn’t gonna play a big role in Saku, so you very likely won’t be experiencing an “Aaah, okay, I get it“-moment. That will hopefully come with Withering Without Hope.
Nevertheless, I’m personally very excited to finally give her an on-screen presence after she and her dad have only been name-dropped throughout the original SHINRAI and GENBA no Kizuna. As you may recall, Rie was complaining about Misaki throwing a Halloween party of her own on the very same evening, while Akira Ginmaku is a local movie director and theater owner who supported the cinematic ambitions of Raptor Pack Productions.
I really can’t wait to finally tell her story. Been looking forward to it for nearly a decade now, ahahah…
And that’s precisely the reason I couldn’t resist taking the opportunity to use Saku to further set her up as a character!
You can probably also imagine that I really enjoyed working on her expressions. Which, by the way, wasn’t just work done for Saku, but for WWH as well, since all these will be carried over to that project as seen above. She’s just getting a new outfit for that one.
Anyway, I really wish I could talk much more about her, but I’ll have to leave it at this for now.
