A little while ago, I gave you a first WIP-look at the textbox design in our new project SHINRAI Saku – Blooming Beyond Despair.
And today, I can share with you the updated and final version of it, so… here you go!
As you can see, our little bat mascot has now been redesigned to better fit the new setting, the white bar at the bottom has been made a bit thicker, the petal pattern on the left side looks significantly nicer now and I’ve also adjusted the color transition of the textbox eeeeever so slightly! This is not the only thing I can share with you, though, as I’ve also finished the data management screen, which should look equally familiar to you:
Just like with the textbox, I’ve simply combined the design elements of Broken Beyond Despair and GENBA no Kizuna and adjusted the colors and textures. You’ll also notice that there are no arrow buttons in the bottom right corner this time. That’s because we will only provide one page of save slots! Given the short length of the project and the fact that it’s going to be a kinetic story (meaning that there won’t be any choices leading into alternate paths or endings), we figured that twelve slots should be plenty.
Upon picking a slot to save, the left, darker part (currently showing your typical “hot springs” icon) will display an in-game screenshot, while the right part will be filled with the date, time and likely scene name.
Anyway, that’s about all I can show you in terms of the GUI at the moment. It took a while to finalize these, but now that it’s done, finishing up the rest of the menus should be a cinch!
It’s getting late now and I’m sadly short on time again, so this is where we’ll have to call it quits! As always, I hope that you’re thoroughly enjoying the remainder of your weekend! Until next Saturday, take care :3
