Weekly Update #503: Quick Progress Overview

Last week, we’ve unveiled GENBA no Kizuna‘s theme song “Dig Deep”, so if you haven’t heard it yet, be sure to check it out here!
We’ve provided a lengthy preview in the post, while patrons can even check out the full song! I’m really happy with the result and think everyone working on it did an absolutely amazing job, so I just had to highlight it again!

And since we’re already on the topic of highlighting things, I’d like to do the same with another new fan art that was sent to us recently, once again drawn by “Ryuu-chan” who… drew us another adorable Ryuu-chan, together with a very beautiful Amber!

Now, as for today’s topic, we’re gonna talk a bit about what’s left to do regarding GENBA now. While we’re getting very close to the VN’s story being fully playable, there’s still some more stuff to take care of before we can actually release it.

After wrapping up the last scene of the game, my next task will be to go back and make some adjustments. Over the course of working on the final chapter, I’ve realized that I should add/change a few little things in the previous ones. I can’t tell you what, because that’d be heavy spoiler territory, but it’s essential in adjusting the difficulty of the mystery and providing some clarity.

Afterwards, we gotta tackle the credits and extras, which a lot of work has already been done on. The mini scenes popping up during the credits are already written and just need to be refined some more, and the same applies to most of the bonus scenes you’ll find in the extras. And once that stuff is done as well… we’ll finally be able to enter the testing and release preparation phases!

I wish I could give some estimates on how long all of this will take, but I’ve painfully realized that I’m really really bad at making accurate predictions, so I’m not even gonna try, haha…

In any case, we keep getting closer to the end and next month, I’ll start addressing topics such as beta-testing of the full version over on Patreon. We had wanted to release a chapter 4 demo to patrons for a looooong time now and while I felt really bad about the continuous delays, I’m actually glad now we didn’t put one out. Because, as I said above, now that the final chapter is almost done, I see that things in the previous one need to be fixed, which will greatly affect the players’ abilities to solve the mystery, sooooo …yeah.

I’ll go into more detail about things like the credits or extra content in the coming weeks. For now, I’d just like to return to work to get some more stuff done before bed time, so… as always, please enjoy the rest of your weekend and, until next Saturday, take care :3
