Last Saturday, I talked about GENBA no Kizuna‘s current script length and, ever since then, have added even more to it as I continued writing chapter four. I’m still finishing up Himatsu‘s interrogation route which is a bit more difficult compared to her previous ones. This time around, you interrogate each suspect individually, posing some general questions to all of them, as well as a few more specific ones depending on the character. You can, for instance, ask everyone about their morning movements, while you may ask Terano for some more details regarding his pet vulture Alexis, or Amber about the injury on her hand.
The difficult part about this is to avoid repetition, so I’m constantly jumping back and forth between characters and even previous chapters to ensure I’m not offering information that has already been provided yet. I’ve already caught myself repeating some things that were previously mentioned in chapter one, for instance, and which really do not need to be reiterated “orz
Furthermore, I now have the true events of what happened on the morning of the incident to consider, a version put together by the whole suspect group in the previous two chapters and the now adjusted stories put forth by each individual suspect, so it’s getting a bit hard to properly keep track of things and not mix anything up, which is why even more doublechecking is in order.
That said, I’m certainly having fun with this, though, and hope that you’ll be having just as much fun interrogating the bunch!
Even though we have entered the significantly more serious phase of the story, I obviously can’t help but sprinkle in some fun moments and I’ve really come to enjoy the dynamic between Himatsu and the various members of the Raptor Pack.
Now, in other news, I have published a new special blog post on Patreon yesterday. It’s a pretty lengthy one about the SHINRAI side project I’ve been mentioning and which I have worked on a little every here and there for the past two years. I don’t really want to say anything about it publicly yet, but the post linked above contains some info about its origins and story, along with some script previews and a first look at Raiko‘s new design for the project.
Anyway, that’s it for this week, so please be sure to enjoy the rest of your weekend and, until next Saturday, take care! :3
