Once again, most of my week has been dedicated to the script for GENBA no Kizuna‘s fourth chapter and, at this point, I can definitely say that it’s going to be the longest one. As of right now, it’s sitting at ~53,000 words which is almost the same length as the second chapter (~58,000 words) and basically as long as a third of SHINRAI‘s entire script (~150,000 words).
At the moment, I’m wrapping up Himatsu‘s interrogations for the second set of investigation routes, but there is one more set following afterwards, so yeah… that word count is definitely going to increase quite a bit more!
I kind of underestimated how long this chapter would become. The main reason for it is the amount of interactivity it features.
Again, there are a total of three instances where you get to play as all of our four investigators, bringing us to a total of twelve investigations routes for the entire chapter. In other words, there are a lot of places to examine and people to talk to, so we have a drastic increase in dialogue branches and investigation commentary here.
It’s quite a lot of work with quite a bit more left to be done, but I think it’s going to be a pretty compelling chapter in the end.
As always, focusing purely on writing gets a bit exhausting after a while, so I have also started working on the next BG art to get a little bit of a change of pace. Patrons can even check out an early preview of it here!
It’s the laundry room of the Kaseki residence, which Rei and Shinketsu are going to take a look at later in chapter four.
It’ll be a while before I can fully finish it, however, as the laundry room investigation is one of those things where I’ll need to work on the BG and script simultaneously. That said, I’ve already drawn the essentials and just need to think about what else to add just for some clickable fun.
That about wraps it up for this week’s progress report, so please enjoy the rest of your weekend and, until next Saturday, take care :3
