Weekly Update #299: Writing Progress Continues!

As mentioned a number of times before, my work on what was supposed to be the “outline” four GENBA no Kizuna‘s fourth chapter has kind of escalated and turned into actual writing sessions. Although some parts are only summed up in key notes, huge chunks have been fully written out now. At the moment, the chapter is sitting at approximately 22,000 words, making it almost as long as our extended demo.

There was a time when I was worried about GENBA not even being half as long as SHINRAI, but at this point, I guess I can safely declare that it will be at least equal in length.

I will keep working on the writing, trying to finish as much of chapter 4 in fully written form as possible. I have made a lot of satisfying progress during the last couple of days and hope it will continue like this!

By now, I have also gotten Natsu‘s first impressions about the chapter 3 outline. I still need to wait to get her detailed feedback (hopefully later tonight), but her first impressions made me feel quite relieved!

As the writing progresses, I also keep getting a clearer picture of the assets needed for the remainder of the game. Once the writing is fully done, I might even be able to give a first prediction for a proper release frame, but I guess I don’t want to get ahead of myself.

There isn’t much else to report for now. Some things are going on behind the scenes, however, which I can’t get into yet, but I’ve given a little hint to our Discord users the other day, so if you’re interested in learning more than just what’s summarized in our weekly updates, pay us a visit!

Now, as always, please enjoy the rest of you weekend and, until next Saturday, take care! :3
