As mentioned in last week’s blog post, we’re planning to add achievements to SHINRAI Saku – Blooming Beyond Despair and, after determining their number, unlock conditions, titles and descriptions, all that’s missing now are the respective icons, so that’s one of the things I’ve worked on this past week and you can see some of the results above!
The first one is the icon for a locked achievement, the second one is a progress-related achievement that you’ll acquire for simply reaching the halfway mark of the story, and the last one is related to the notebook.
Other than that, I’ve also continued working on the game’s credits, finalizing the design for them, and I’ve finished writing the remaining character profiles, meaning that all the notebook content is taken care of now!
If we add everything together (so game script and notebook entries), Saku‘s total length now adds up to approximately 50,000 words!
That’s pretty much one third the length of the original SHINRAI!
Natsu has also been very diligent with her coding duties, so I hope to finally be able to start the testing phase soon, but for now, I guess I still have a couple minor tasks left to tackle, such as the remaining achievement icons. I’d also like to once again whip up a little Game Boy-style manual for the game, as I did for the original SHINRAI and GENBA, even if there probably won’t be too much content in it, given the fact that this project doesn’t really offer much in terms of gameplay. Still, I love doing this kinda stuff!
In any case, we keep inching closer to the finish line as the 10th anniversary slowly draws nearer… just one more month to go!
