For the last couple days, I’ve returned to sprite art again, adding a few more expressions to various members of the SHINRAI Saku cast, primarily our sibling duo Ritsu and Shizue. These two pose a bit more of a challenge, since I couldn’t simply look at old sprites and redraw what I did in the past. All-new characters need all-new expressions after all, so I had to carefully go through the script and imagine what faces they’d make during their dialogues. And above, you can see a few new examples of that!

There are still a couple more I gotta take care of. The most difficult part is not to go too wild and try to condense the workload by coming up with expressions that can work for multiple situations/emotions. Maybe I’ll talk about the process in more detail in the future, as I don’t think I’ve done that before. But for now, I gotta get back to work, since it’s another tightly packed day, so…
