Weekly Update #527: 1st Review Milestone!

It’s only been two weeks now since the release of our new murder mystery GENBA no Kizuna and, as of a couple of days ago, we have already passed the 10 review mark on Steam, meaning that the game now not only has a rating displayed, but that its visibility should also be boosted across the platform, allowing for more people to catch wind of it!

As mentioned before, getting to 10 reviews is the first important step for any small indie dev after the release of their game and we’re so incredibly grateful to each and every one of you who has allowed us to hit this milestone this quickly! I’m honestly surprised by how fast we’ve gotten there! So again, thank you so so SO MUCH!!

Of course, this is also insanely helpful in convincing indecisive players to pick up the game and, as developer’s, we also want to continue improving ourselves and make the next project even better, which is why your thoughts, feedback and suggestions are very valuable to us! So if you’ve played through GENBA and haven’t left a Steam review/recommendation yet, please consider doing so! We would immensely appreciate it!

And if you’re one of the peeps still unsure about whether or not GENBA might be your thing, well… why not check out one of our reviews to get some actual player impressions? You can find them right here!

Now, in other news, a little patch for GENBA is still being prepared, mainly to address the matter of the missing Auto Mode, but also to fix some typos. We’re just waiting a little longer to see if anything else comes up, particularly in regards to the glitch with the evidence files that disappeared from the DPA. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you wanna see it), there’s still only two reports on that and we sadly haven’t received any further information from the people affected, meaning that we still have no idea what’s going on there or how to potentially prevent other players from running into it.

All Natsu and I can say is that, after more testing, everything works as intended for us, and that the code shouldn’t even allow for that issue to happen. So yeah, we’re really desperate here to get some more details to get to the bottom of this, which is why, if you are one of the people who ran into this glitch, we’d like to ask you to please contact us!

These post-launch fixes aside, some (or maybe even all) of you are probably curious how things are gonna continue from here.
Well, that’s a topic we’ll delve into very soon! Starting from next week, I’d like to get into the first of a series of post-mortem posts regarding GENBA and then, somewhere in October, I’d like to lay out what’s gonna be next. I admittedly want to take some time to chill right now, but I’m also itching to jump straight into the next project, so it’s not gonna be long before I can share news on that!

But for now, I’m gonna get back to recovering from all the release stress! Though, before we fully wrap up for today, I actually do have one more thing to share with you. A super cool artwork Natsu drew for my birthday, depicting a really cute Ryuunosuke, a super cool Terano and a very determined looking Alexis:

(Don’t they look amazing??)

Now, as always, please enjoy the rest of your weekend and, until next Saturday, take care! :3
