As the title reveals, this past week was all about writing and I sure made quite a lot of progress! Honestly feeling really exhausted now, not just from today’s sessions, but kinda from writing in general. I think it’s about time for me to work on some art assets again for a change, but not until I’ve reached a certain point at least, to which I should be getting tomorrow.
That would be the point where the story will split off into its different endings, depending on your culprit selection.
This too will work a little bit different than it did in SHINRAI, given the way the whole revelation chapter is structured this time.
In SHINRAI, you had to choose the culprit first and then explain your reasoning by using the evidence to build a case.
That way, even after picking the wrong person, a lengthy segment would follow as Raiko provided her reasoning.
In GENBA, however, you need to unveil and explain the main trick first and, once that’s taken care of and all the suspects have given a few more statements, you’ll have to choose who of them did the killing.
I haven’t written them yet, so I obviously can’t say this for sure, but given the way things unfold here, the “wrong culprit endings” will very likely not be nearly as extensive as they were in SHINRAI. Originally, when I first began to plan GENBA, I wanted to take things even further than I did in our previous project, but then again… I don’t want to do the same thing twice and I’m not quite sure how fun it’ll be if you go through a super long conclusion only to find out you made the wrong choice, haha.
Anyway, this is another of those topics I can’t really elaborate more on until the game’s been out, but the most important thing to take away here is that, at least writing-wise, the final chapter has gotten much further along now. And to bring it along even further, I guess I’m going to wrap this post up here now and get back to the script!
As always, please enjoy the rest of your weekend and, until next Saturday, take care :3
