So, this past week, Natsu has finished coding the rest of the discussion phase, meaning that the third chapter is essentially playable now! Of course, there is still testing left to be done and, for the demo release, we’re going to include the next social phase as well, so let’s take a quick look at what you can actually expect in terms of content:
All in all, the next demo will add two social phases alongside the discussion phase, one before and after. All three phases together add up to approximately 35,000 words worth of new content since the previous demo release, bringing the total to about 135,000 and thereby very close to the word count of SHINRAI in its entirety!
I do have to mention that, this time around, there are a lot of choices leading into alt scenarios, though. So your playtime won’t actually equal that of what it’d take you to read 35,000 words, but end up being quite a bit less than that.
Anyway, there is still some more work left to be done, including the aforementioned testing, but we’re getting very close to the finish line now with this chapter and I’m both nervous and excited to hear the feedback, once we can get it out to patrons!
I have also wrapped up the first set of investigation segments for chapter 4 now, at least to a point where they only require a few more revision/proofreading passes. Although that stuff will not be included in the demo, we’ll hopefully get it playable very soon, too!
