As you can tell from the title, this past week has been mostly dedicated to Shinketsu‘s route. As mentioned last time, I was rather worried that, compared to the other routes, it will end up being noticeably shorter and… it certainly will be a quicker experience.
That said, I’m surprised by how much I managed to get out of examining a single body, compared to three entire backgrounds with numerous objects in Rei‘s route, for instance. Right now, were sitting at 6,000 words, but I’m still missing the DNA analysis segment and the wrap-up scene, though I highly doubt I’ll get anywhere close to doubling the word count to match the other routes.
However, one thing I can say is that, even though it may the shortest route, Shinketsu‘s is definitely the funniest one.
At least if you’re into my type of humor. I certainly had a rather entertaining time writing his internal monologues, even if they posed to be quite a bit more challenging than those of the other characters. Shinketsu has a lot of speech patterns that make his way of talking quite unique, from an overabundance of alliterations to a more exotic choice of words.
I certainly hope players will enjoy reading his thoughts just as much as I reveled in typing them down!
Now, speaking of Shinketsu, I have also finished all of his new sprite variations this week, along with those for Rei.

That about wraps it up for this week’s progress report. I will continue working on Shinketsu‘s route now and hopefully wrap it up by tomorrow evening. Starting from next Friday, I will finally be on vacation for the rest of the year, so I’m eager to get a lot of stuff done before 2022 comes around!
