With the “discussion” chapters done, I’ve spent this past week working on the outline for the “investigation” chapters and made quite a bit of progress. Once again, I would like to emphasize that, even though I use the word “outline” here, it’s actually a bit more than just that. I’m not just ordering a list of key notes, structuring how the individual chapters will unfold… in many cases, I am doing actual writing as well, chapter 2 being the best example of that.
Although a lot of chapter 2 does only exist in key notes right now, huge chunks of it have been fully written out, including coding instructions for Natsu. Keiichi‘s route, for example, features a lot of full dialogue exchanges. The intro scenes for Rei‘s, Shinketsu‘s and Himatsu‘s routes have also been fully written. Needless to say, they will still need to undergo revisions, but yeah… part of the reason I’m spending so much time on the “outline” is because, in many regards, it does include actual script writing.
I’ve always been unable to just do key notes. I don’t know, that’s simply the way it works for me, I guess. Sometimes, certain ideas just come to me and I have to fully write them down. Key notes just wouldn’t cut it, haha.
As a result, chapter 2 currently features 13,000 words, which is about half of the content of our extended demo.
The downside of making so much writing progress still is the fact that I don’t have much in terms of visual stuff to show off. However, once chapter 2 is done, I will start working on some assets again, while continuing with chapter 4.
In the meantime, I have uploaded some behind-the-scenes stuff for patrons at least. So if you are curious to learn even more about the mysterious silhouettes down below, be sure to head over to Patreon and check out the new special blog post!
Now, as always, please enjoy the rest of your weekend and, until next Saturday, take care! :3
