Blooming Beyond Despair

SHINRAI Saku – Blooming Beyond Despair is a character-focused follow-up to Broken Beyond Despair, developed using the Ren’Py visual novel engine.

Story:

Two months after that dreadful Halloween night, Raiko’s school grade travels to the city of Tenrintou.
While many of the students are excited and plan to make the most out of the long-awaited trip,
some are still affected by the tragic events they have been through and struggle with their aftermath.

Life goes on, however.

And whether it’s by reverting back to their old shenanigans to blend out the problems, or by confronting them head-on,
everyone needs to find a way to move along… unless they wish to be left behind.

What To Expect:

  • Unlike Broken Beyond Despair, Saku is not a murder mystery!
  • That said, there will still be some light mystery elements included, which will require our grumpy little detective to use her deductive skills.
  • Although readers will be encouraged to deduce alongside her, they won’t come across any interactive gameplay features this time, however.
  • Saku is going to be a purely kinetic experience, meaning that there won’t be any choices, investigation segments or evidence presentation.
  • It’s a story primarily focusing on Raiko and her classmates, what problems they are facing following the events of October 30, and how they are dealing with them.
  • While it will thus address many darker and serious subjects, it will also showcase fun, lighthearted interactions and comedic moments of “teens being teens”.
