Weekly Update #386: Quick Progress Update

Today, we’re just going to have a very quick progress update again for a change. If you’re up for a longer read and haven’t done so already, you could check out last week’s blog post laying out our general plans for 2022 as well as giving a more detailed look at those for this first month of the year. There is also our 2021 retrospect, if you’d like to get an overview how last year went for us.

Also, just a little reminder that, although the Winter Sale may be over on Steam and itch, the Nintendo Switch and Playstation 4/5 versions of SHINRAI are currently still on sale (the Switch version only for a couple more days, though)!

Now, with all of that out of the way, let’s talk about our first week of 2022!

First of all, my part on the New Year’s artwork has been done, so all that’s left now is for Natsu to color and shade it!
Not sure when the final version will be up. I’ll either post it the moment it’s ready or maybe wait until the Lunar New Year.

Outside of that, work on GENBA has naturally continued, mostly in regards to the script. I’ve continued with Himatsu‘s route, but also had to go back to the others and adjust a few things here and there, after becoming aware of a couple of logic issues.

Unfortunately, I can’t go into any detail due to spoiler reasons. All I can say is that writing a murder mystery really is a delicate matter and, sometimes, the tiniest of details can decide over whether or not the whole thing properly clicks together, haha…

In regards to art, I’ve begun work on the last few sprite variations needed for Himatsu‘s route and will probably share a preview next week, either publicly or on Patreon. Not really much else to say beyond that, so I guess I’ll wrap up right here and get back to work!

I hope you had a very successful and productive start into the year!
As always, please enjoy the rest of your weekend and, until next Saturday, take care! :3
